Geotechnical Consultation

Soil Engineers Ltd.'s Geotechnical Department is staffed by experienced professional engineers, who primarily provide subsurface investigation and geotechnical consultation services for a broad range of projects, including residential subdivisions, condominiums, commercial, institutional and industrial developments, roadways and bridges. We also perform design on retaining structures, slope stability studies and stabilization works.

With our depth of knowledge, we provide comprehensive geotechnical recommendations that are tailored to project requirements.

Our geotechnical services are backed by a full-range in-house laboratory, certified by the Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL). This integrative service guarantees efficiency and accuracy of material and information transfer from the initial raw data collection on the field to final recommendations and reports.

Augering for soil samples. Samples are taken and Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) are carried out at different depths for our subsurface investigation to create a subsurface geological profile.

We designed and managed the construction of this new retaining wall after the original wall experienced severe distress and was removed.

Failure of an engineered slope system.
Soil Engineers Ltd. was retained to investigate the failure of an engineered slope system. ​Ultimately, the system was replaced with a mass gravity retaining wall.

Slope washout due to heavy run-off, exposing storm manhole.
